Spanish Cup Final: Mestalla Stadium

The Spanish Football Federation confirmed yesterday that the stadium for the final of the 'Copa del Rey' on 20 April, will be Mestalla. Unanimous decision. A meeting was held yesterday between the two finalists and the Federation. The two clubs have requested 20,000 tickets for each (in 2009 Barcelona and Bilbao had 18,500) and will be answered in the coming days. "Demand is going to be huge and we have asked that effort to the Federation. They have said that they will look kindly" said Butragueño at the end of the meeting. Mestalla has a capacity of 55,000 spectators so 15,000 tickets will remain for Spanish Federation commitments.

In addition, Real Madrid and Barcelona have asked that the final schedule was changed. It was scheduled to be played between 9:30 and 10 pm, but the clubs have asked to be between 8:30 and 8:45 hours. Now the Federation and Spanish Television (TVE) will have to reach an agreement.

Madrid and Barcelona want to draw their tickets and will make it as soon as the Federation confirms the number of seats available. In Madrid, more than 100,000 petitions, tickets will be drawn between club members who request it. Real can remain with a quota for commitment of the club (players, veterans, foundation, sponsors ...). Real Madrid will make public how it will be the ticket distribution.
